1.1 What should I do if my alfaxMedia System does not shut down when my clinic is closed? (top)
alfaxMedia Digital Multimedia System contains two main parts: monitor and system terminal. The monitor should automatically switch to standby mode (blank screen) after closing time. If your monitor does not switch to standby mode after the specified closing time, please contact our support hotline.
The system terminal is a 7 x 24 non-stop system, which should remain in operation at all times. It is important that you do not attempt to switch off or unplug your system terminal, because it needs to communicate with our central content server during your clinic's closing hours.
1.2 How do I restart the terminal? (top)
If your system terminal is not functioning properly for any unknown reason, please contact our support hotline. Please notify us promptly so that we can identify the cause of the problem and provide the proper assistance to you.

What should I do if my system terminal is not responding or my monitor went blank? (top)
First, confirm that the date and time of the malfunction are within the specified opening and closing hours of your clinic. You can check your specified opening and closing hours by pressing 'Menu' on your remote control.
If the opening and closing hours are correct, please contact our support line for assistance.
1.4 What should I do if my terminal does not respond after a power supply failure in my building or office? (top)
Your system terminal may shut down in the event of a power supply failure in your building or office. To restart your system terminal, locate the power switch (at the bottom of the system terminal) and switch on the system terminal. If you need assistance, you can refer to the user menu or call our support hotline.
1.5 How do I know if my system terminal is plugged in to the power supply? (top)
There are two lights next to the 'power' button of your system terminal: a green light and a red light. If the system terminal is property connected to the power supply and switched on, both lights should be lit.
1.6 How do I turn off my system terminal in case I need to close my clinic for a few days? (top)
alfaxMedia¡¦s system terminal is a 7 x 24 non-stop system, and you do not need to physically switch it off under any circumstances. In the event that your clinic will be closed for business for a prolonged period of time, you can input the closing dates via our web interface. Your system terminal will automatically switch to standby mode during your specified closing days. Please be sure to submit the instructions at least one day prior to the desired effective date.
1.7 My remote control has no response, what should I do? (top)
First, check the status of the batteries. If the remote emits a red light on top (instead of the normal green light), it means that your remote control is out of batteries. You should replace them with a new pair of AAA Batteries as soon as possible. To keep your remote control operating at its best condition, we recommend that you change your batteries every two months.
After replacing your batteries, switch on the remote control to activate it. Please note that the Bluetooth wireless connection may take 3 to 5 seconds to establish and the system may not receive the signal instantly.
Please also note that the Bluetooth remote control is equipped with an on/off switch. Please switch off the remote control after each use to preserve your batteries.
1.8 How can I play a CD with the system terminal? (top) The system terminal is not designed to play CD/VCD/DVD. All programs displayed on The Waiting Room Channel are downloaded from our server. If you have a copy of a program that you think is suitable for telecast on The Waiting Room Channel, you are welcomed to contact us with your suggestion.
2. LCD monitor (top)
2.1 What should I do if my LCD monitor has no display? (top)
First, please check whether your LCD monitor has been accidentally switched off or disconnected from the power supply. If the LCD monitor is accidentally switched off, and disconnected from the power supply, please reconnect and switch the power on.
If your LCD monitor is properly plugged in and switched on, there may be a problem with the system terminal. Refer to section 1 of this guide or contact our support hotline.
Please note: the LCD monitor should not be switch off at anytime or under any circumstances. The system terminal is designed to instruct the LCD monitor to switch to standby mode automatically after specified closing time.
2.2 How do I adjust the brightness of my LCD monitor? (top)
Use the buttons on the control panel of the monitor to adjust the brightness of the screen. If you cannot locate the control panel, please refer to the user manual.
2.3 Can I use the LCD monitor to watch TV? (top)
No. The LCD monitor cannot receive broadcasting signals from television stations. The LCD monitor may only be used to display programs on The Waiting Room Channel.
2.4 How do I adjust sound volume? (top) You can adjust the sound volume by using the remote control.

Broadband (top) 3.1 What is the Internet and broadband? (top) The Internet is a worldwide system of computer networks in which users at any one computer
can get information from any other computers. Broadband is a data transmission method between a user and the Internet. The speed of Internet connection is calculated in units of 'bit per second' (bps). The speed of traditional telephone line dialup method is 56000bps, and the common broadband speed presently available in Hong Kong is around 1500000bps (1.5Mbps).
3.2 What should I do if my broadband connection is disconnected? (top)
If your broadband connection is disconnected, please wait for 30 minutes to see if broadband connection resumes. If your service remains disconnected after 30 minutes, please check whether your broadband share router and broadband modem are switched on or properly connected to a power supply. If the light on your router is not on, please check the router¡¦s connection to the power supply.
To restart your router, unplug the power from the router, hold for 10 seconds before your re-plug the power.
3.3 Do I have 24-hour broadband service? (top) Yes, the broadband service provided by alfaxMedia is available 24 hours a day with unlimited usage.
3.4 What should I do if my PC/computer cannot access the Internet? (top)
alfaxMedia provides a broadband share router for users to share the broadband connection to access the Internet. Users have to do a basic setup on their own PCs in order to connect to the Internet.
If your PC cannot access the Internet, please check the settings of your PC first. If necessary, our technical team can provide directions for you to input the correct setting. If your PC setting is correct but you cannot access the Internet, please follow POINT 3.2 above to restart the router.
3.5 What is the speed of the broadband service provided by alfaxMedia? (top) The upstream is 64Kbps and downstream is 1.5 Mbps. 3.6 Why do I get 6M of connection speed for the broadband service at home but only 1.5M for the broadband service provided by alfaxMedia? (top)
alfaxMedia offers a 'commercial use' broadband service (or business broadband) at connection speed of 1.5Mbps to all users. The most important advantage of business broadband is its high stability. From a technical point of view, the speed of 1.5Mbps is adequate for performing common Internet data transmission such as transmitting document files or even online video conferencing.
The speed of the domestic uses broadband is often claimed to be 6Mbps or higher. This is because broadband service providers use different methods to provide and measure their services. The 6M, 8M, 10M or higher connection speed are usually applied to share based broadband, meaning the connection speed is shared by multiple users at the same time. In this case, the 'net' connection speed is often significantly lower.
Moreover, the stability of this type of connection services is relatively lower.
3.7 I already have an original broadband line, will the new broadband line
installed by alfaxMedia affect its performance? (top) No. The two broadband connections use separate lines and connectivity.
3.8 How can I connect wirelessly? (top) To use wireless connection, you have to install a wireless network interface card on your computer.
